Master Distillery’s Note

This year’s first whisky release is finally here. Club members, come on in and get your pour of Copper Cat’s first Rye. This one has a lot of depth-- 54% malted rye, 23% malted triticale, and 23% malted barley, all of course grown in Washington State. I like to drink it neat or on a big cube of ice, but it also makes a mean Old-Fashioned.

If you aren’t yet a Whisky Club Member, there are currently a few slots available. Come on in and join.

Finally, I started production again. I wasn’t planning to make any more whisky until September, but I got the opportunity to order some ex-Calvados casks from France, and I just couldn’t pass them up. So odds are good that the next time you come in I will be in the process of making something or cleaning something.

Spring Blossoms  – Bing’s

  • 2 oz Copper Cat Double Barreled Brandy

  • 1 oz Orgeat

  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice

  • 3 dashes Pimento bitters

  • Shaken and served with a lemon peel

Smoked Gin Martini – Jess’

  • 2 oz Copper Cat Batch No. 2 Gin

  • Dash smoked olive brine

  • Stirred and served from a smoky bottle with smoked olives
